We have recently updated our website. We are hopeful that it is informative and user friendly for all who wish to know a little more about our ministry. We have tried to use photos and copy that gives a broad view of where we are working and what we are doing. Our distinctives have not changed since the formation of Reach Ministries International in 1984. Indeed, these distinctives were carried forward from the establishment of REACH Philippines in the mid-1970s by ministry founders Gene and Helen Tabor.
A key component of our ministry is its governance. We take this seriously as stewards of gifts given to support ministry efforts and individual field workers throughout Asia and the U.S. Financial and mission accountability are part of governance.
Reach Ministries International RMI) is accredited by The Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA). RMI follows the guidance of these accrediting agencies concerning governance and oversight. Along with requiring an annual financial review by an Independent Auditor, ECFA Standard – Governance states:
“Every organization shall be governed by a responsible board of not less than five individuals, a majority of whom shall be independent, who shall meet at least semiannually to establish policy and review its accomplishments.”
Reach Ministries International is governed by a Board of Directors of seven members. Directors serve three-year terms. Six of these board members are independent, that is, they are not part of the organization’s management and have no material relationship with the organization that could compromise their objectivity. They are not employees of the organization and are chosen for their expertise, experience and spiritual maturity to provide unbiased oversight and advice.
The board meets a minimum of three times annually and more often if matters arise that require a board decision. Minutes of the meetings are maintained by the Recording Secretary. The president/CEO presents a budget each fiscal year for the board’s approval.
